Flore-35

Meet the founder, Flore Thevoux

Flore started her creative career at fourteen as an illustrator, earning a Presidential Merit Scholarship to Pratt Institute, where she studied graphic design, illustration, and art history. In New York City, she became a published political and children's book illustrator before moving into brand strategy and identity design.

Over the past seven years, she's worked with hundreds of businesses, from Fortune 500 companies to early-stage founders, helping them figure out who they are and how to communicate that to the people who need to hear it.

Her background is unusual for a strategist. She grew up across three countries and spoke multiple languages before she was twelve. That experience gave her an almost anthropological way of seeing people, culture, and systems. She pays attention to how meaning is formed, how narratives shape organizations, and when the story a business tells itself has fallen out of integrity with who it wants to become.

That instinct is the foundation of the work she does at Jegayo.

What guides our work

Care as foundation
Successful businesses are built on relationships. We approach every engagement with the belief that how we treat people is inseparable from the quality of the work.

Courage
Meaningful work requires honest conversations. We'll tell you what we see, even when it's uncomfortable, because that's where the real breakthroughs live.

Deep Listening
Before we design anything, we listen. To leadership, to teams, to customers, to the cultural landscape your business exists within. The best strategies come from understanding what's already true.

craft
Exceptionally made work leave a mark. We care about the details because your audience will feel them, even if they can't name them.

We're a small team by design. Every project is led by Flore, supported by senior collaborators who bring deep expertise in development and marketing. No handoffs to junior staff. No bloated teams. Just focused, experienced people who care about the outcome.

Where the name comes from

Jegayo began its life in 2019 as an invented language, in the living room of a 100 year old house in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The name at the time had absolutely no meaning. Later, it was found to be Korean for “I am” and coincidentally similar to the Hindi word jaaga जागा, or “awakened one”. The author had little to no exposure to these languages.
Jegayo Medallion

Original Jegayo Medallion, designed by Flore Thevoux and hand crafted by jeweller David Copher in Santa Fe, NM 2020.

With time, Jegayo grew to 111 unique glyphs and a dictionary of over 200 words. The purpose of this language is to create new associations between words, rewiring the brain into non-dual awareness. It is genderless, devoid of past and future tense, and has no practical use whatsoever.
In 2022, the author was possessed by the folly to start an independent creative studio and named it Jegayo Design (the descriptor was later dropped). This decision still stands to this day. Don't bother asking her why she made any of this happen. There is no answer other than the name is fun to say and she enjoys a good puzzle.
